Reflecting on 2020

Operation Kindness Blog - Reflecting on 2020 | North Texas No-Kill Animal Shelter

This community is passionate about animal welfare.

Despite all of the hardships we’ve faced over this past year, that is the message I’m taking with me into 2021. Your support this year has been nothing short of inspirational, especially in the midst of such a challenging time.

I can’t help but recall all those months ago when we first closed the doors of Operation Kindness to the public. I guessed we would open back up again in about two weeks…Of course, as you know, that wasn’t the case and many adjustments had to be made.

But we found our path forward. We were able to pivot because friends like you faithfully stood by in support of homeless animals. The COVID-19 pandemic has most certainly been an eye-opening experience for all of us, but I’m so grateful that you’ve made it almost seamless for the animals in our care.

Thanks to your support, we’ve been able to:

  • Continue taking in sick and injured homeless animals
  • Provide treatment, surgeries, and care in our hospital
  • Place pets with foster families until they can be adopted
  • Offer tele-adoptions so animals can still be matched with loving families

This holiday season, I hope you know that many animals will enjoy warm, safe, loving homes because you chose to support our mission. You are giving animals a second chance at life.

We couldn’t do this work without you and truly look forward to partnering with you in 2021!
