Comfort and Joy Donation Drive

Operation Kindness Blog - Comfort and Joy Donation Drive | North Texas No-Kill Animal Shelter

The holidays are here! North Texas animal shelters are asking the community to help brighten the season for the thousands of shelter animals in North Texas.

Operation Kindness, in partnership with the Humane Society of North Texas, Irving Animal Services, Fort Worth Animal Care and Control, and Dallas Animal Services, are requesting donations this holiday season for animals in need.

During the Comfort and Joy Donation Drive from December 1 – January 2, we are requesting blankets, toys, treats, and canned food.

“Animal lovers are so generous all year round, but especially at the holiday season,” said Natalie Buxton, the director of marketing and communications for Operation Kindness. “With the community’s support, we can ensure that homeless animals in North Texas have everything they need to feel cozy and safe this winter.”

Giving is easy. Donations can be made to any participating animal shelter in the north Texas area.

Needed items include:

  • Clean and washed blankets, new or gently worn (no fringe or decorative items on the blankets)
  • Canned dog food
  • Canned kitten food
  • For dogs: Durable dog toys including rubber toys such as Nylabone® and Kong®-type products, rope, and woven toys
  • For cats: Plastic toys, small toys that can be swatted. No toys with small parts or choking hazards such as strings and yarn

Donation drop-off is available daily from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Operation Kindness. Go to the front door of our medical wing, located at 3201 Earhart Drive, Carrollton, TX 75006. Ring the bell and a staff member will collect the donations and provide a donation receipt. Please wear a mask or face covering during donation drop-off.
