In Texas, animal control officers are required to earn 30 hours of continuing education training every three years. Certified Animal Welfare Administrators, Veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians also have continuing education requirements. Texas Unites training courses help animal welfare workers meet these requirements.

Animal Control Officer Basic Training

Texas Unites, a program of Operation Kindness, is a Texas Department of State Health Services approved sponsor of the Animal Control Basic Training Course. This course is for current animal control officers (ACOs) and those looking to become animal control officers.

Training will be July 24-25,2024 from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

Texas Unites training programs, such as ACO Basic and the annual Texas Unites for Animals Conference, bring animal welfare professionals from all types of organizations together for continuing education and networking opportunities.

Texas Unites for Animals Conference

The Texas Unites for Animals Conference will be held on May 7-10, 2025 in Allen, TX.
Registration for the Texas Unites for Animals Conference opens January 2025.
