Overnight, thousands of North Texas animals’ lives were changed thanks to generous donors at Operation Kindness’ 33rd annual Canines, Cats & Cabernet Gala. On November 1, 2025, animal lovers gathered at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel and raised over $910,000 for the organization.
A Night of Fundraising for Animals and Their Families
As guests walked in, they were warmly greeted with the tiny meows and wagging tails of Operation Kindness cats and dogs who were searching for homes at the on-site adoption lounge. Eleven pets met their match and ended the special evening in the arms of their adopters.
Meredith Jones, new Chief of Staff for Operation Kindness, captivated the crowd with her address explaining the impact of our work while using her own rescue dog — Liam — as an example of how hope, compassion and trust are reciprocal between animals and people. Jones explained how our community has continuously turned compassion into action, which is why Operation Kindness and our programs have impacted thousands. Director of Development Nikki Walker presented Keith Hallock with the 2025 Champion for Animals award before guests heard the story of Chai, an Operation Kindness pup who defied the odds and found a new start thanks to our help.
Our mission of creating a kinder world for pets and the people who love them was shown throughout the night of fundraising. Guests placed their bids on designer purses and breathtaking jewelry during the silent auction. To keep the night of giving vibrant, the Cowboy Auctioneer team led the live auction. Guests competed to win a luxury vacation to Punta Mita, Champion Club suite tickets for the FIFA World Cup and other incomparable experiences.
A Kendra Scott jewelry pull, where every $100 purchase guaranteed a surprise piece, and a photo booth where guests could snap memories with friends — or sneak a quick picture with the on-site adoptable puppies — made their debut at this year’s gala.
To end the night, the Emerald City Band performed, energizing guests who flooded the dance floor.
Proceeds from the gala fund medical care, spay/neuter services and nourishing food for dogs and cats in our care, while also supporting community programs that keep pets and their families together. We look forward to the 34th annual Canines, Cats and Cabernet Gala, which will celebrate the organization’s 50th anniversary.
Special Thanks
As always, we appreciate the Cowboy Auctioneer team for guiding the auction with such enthusiasm for our mission, and to Proparazzi Photo Booth for capturing the fun of the evening!
