At Operation Kindness Humane Society, we remain committed to supporting the health and well-being of all pets. Spaying/neutering pets in our care and within our community has been one way we have shown dedication to this mission.
Expanding our Spay/Neuter Resources
In 2025, Operation Kindness Humane Society performed 14,534 spay/neuter surgeries across all our programs. While we are most known for our lifesaving shelter operations, where we provide spay/neuter surgeries for every pet in our care before their adoption, we have grown our impact beyond our shelter walls.
Understanding the need for accessible and affordable spay/neuter resources for community pets, we have continued to expand our resources to ensure pets and the people who love them are provided for. Last year, we launched a program that offers free dog spay/neuter surgeries for eligible Dallas residents.
This program allows families to conveniently drop off their dogs at Inspired Vision Compassion Center (IVCC), an established and trusted human social services organization in Pleasant Grove, to be spayed/neutered by our staff at our Lifesaving Partnerships Hub in southern Dallas.
Making a Lasting Impact
In November 2025, our Community Initiatives team met Barcode, an eight-week-old chihuahua who recently found her new loving home. Barcode’s dad was overjoyed to have a puppy companion, yet recognized he could use a little guidance, as it had been years since his last pet.
Thanks to the partnership we built with IVCC, when Barcode’s dad turned to them to ask for assistance, they connected him to our Community Initiatives team. During two of our free monthly pet vaccine and microchip clinics at IVCC, our team provided Barcode with updated vaccines and preventions.
In late January 2026, once Barcode was old enough to be spayed, she was transported from IVCC to our Lifesaving Partnerships Hub through our free spay/neuter program.
With her vaccines and surgery completed, Barcode is ready to focus on growing and creating unforgettable memories with her dad!
