Operation Kindness is excited to announce the launch of our innovative “Kindness on the Go” foster program. This unique program offers community members the opportunity to pick up a furry friend for a day of adventure, providing a much-needed break for dogs from the high-stress shelter environment.
A Day of Fun and Discovery
“Kindness on the Go” is designed to enrich the lives of both the dogs and the participants. Interested individuals can visit Operation Kindness to select a dog companion for a day. This program not only allows the dogs to experience a change of scenery but also helps gather valuable information about the dog’s behavior in a home-like environment, which can be crucial for their future adoption prospects.
How It Works
The client services team at Operation Kindness will assist interested participants by showing them available dogs, helping with the foster sign-up process and ensuring all necessary contracts are signed. At the time of pick-up, fosters will receive:
- A harness and leash for safe and comfortable walks
- Potty bags for easy clean-up
- An “Adopt Me” bandanna to promote the dog’s availability for adoption
- A detailed itinerary of pet-friendly activities and locations near Operation Kindness
Eligible Animals
For the safety and well-being of all animals, puppies are not eligible for the “Kindness on the Go” program due to the potential risks associated with exposure to new environments. Already available dogs and those that are awaiting space in the shelter holding areas will be able to participate in this program.
