Early giving for North Texas Giving Day starts Aug. 28, and Operation Kindness is setting a goal to raise $525,000. Every donation made during early giving will be matched up to $100,000. The funds raised provide even more food, shelter and lifesaving medical care for Texas animals in need.

North Texas Giving Day, an online gift-giving event presented by the Communities Foundation of Texas, is the single most significant fundraising day of the year for our animals and programs. All money raised from the campaign will continue quality care for dogs and cats by providing fostering and adoption programs, lifesaving care, food, shelter, medication and other resources to benefit animals in need.

Funds from the giving day also help support our Community Initiatives program, providing accessible and affordable veterinary services to community pets. In 2024, we impacted the lives of over 41,000 animals through our community programs and are working to help even more pets with funds raised during North Texas Giving Day.

Following the deadly Central Texas floods on July 4, 2025, we stepped up and transferred 125 animals into their care. Through gifts made during North Texas Giving Day, we can provide lifesaving care for animals across the state and quickly aid rescue partners when disaster strikes.

To celebrate North Texas Giving Day as a community, we will host a Backyard Jamboree on Sept. 18 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at our main shelter in Carrollton. This family-friendly event includes a fun evening of tours, bad pet portraits, stuffed animal adoptions, animal enrichment, meet-and-greets and more. Operation Kindness alumni are encouraged to attend for a heart-warming reunion and to help the us raise money to save more lives.
