Support Operation Kindness Humane Society’s Flood Relief Efforts

Operation Kindness Humane Society is working to help our shelter partners, both locally and those that have been impacted by the Texas Hill Country flooding. We are asking our community for your support this weekend so that we can continue to provide assistance to those in need. Here are the ways you can help:

Donations: We are in need of dry, unopened bags of adult dog, any type of cat food, and large, wire crates that are new or used that we can pass along to our partners who are responding to the flooding. Donations can be purchased through our Amazon or Chewy Wish Lists to send to us directly or dropped off at our Keller Springs warehouse from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM this Sunday and Monday, July 19th and 20th.

For directions to drop off donations this Sunday and Monday, please input 3220 Keller Springs Rd, Carrollton, TX 75006, as the address and drive to the back side of the building to look for the large garage doors to drop off donations. See the map below for the location.

Adopt: We have amazing dogs and cats that are looking for homes this weekend at our locations. When you adopt a pet from our shelter, you enable us to provide assistance to our municipal shelter partners who can transfer animals to us to relieve the overcrowding they are experiencing. View all of our available pets for adoption on our website at operationkindness.org/adopt/.

Monetary support: Monetary donations are welcome and will be used toward the care of the animals that we are working to support. You can donate today at this link.

Our commitment to Texas pets and their families

Torrential rain began hitting the Texas Hill Country on July 14, prompting a statewide disaster declaration across 59 counties. By July 16, the Guadalupe River had surged again near Kerrville and Comfort — the same communities devastated by last year’s flood.

While efforts are ongoing, we are working closely with local shelters and rescues near the impacted region and are constantly evaluating how we can expand our support.

Stay up to date

We thank you for your support at this time and all you do to help pets in our community and regionally!
