Join Our Kids Kindness Camp: Vet Academy
If your child loves animals and dreams of caring for them someday, Operation Kindness Humane Society has a special opportunity just for them. Kids Kindness Camp: Vet Academy is a single-day youth volunteering experience that offers an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at the work of a medical team in an animal shelter.
Campers will learn directly from our team of veterinary professionals through Q&A sessions and live demonstrations. Throughout the day, they will tour our neonatal kitten nursery, spend quality time with our shelter dogs and cats and discover what daily life looks like at a busy shelter. It’s a fun-filled chance to learn, explore, and see our lifesaving work firsthand.
This December, we’re hosting two camp sessions, each designed for a different age group. Both sessions will be hosted at our main shelter located at 3201 Earhart Dr, Carrollton, TX 75006.

- Junior Vet Academy (ages 7-10): Saturday, Dec. 19 | 9 am-1 pm

Additional Youth Volunteering Opportunities
If your child can’t make our Kids Kindness Camp: Vet Academy but would still like to visit our shelter and volunteer, we have additional opportunities for them to get involved!
We host Family Day volunteering events monthly, allowing your entire family to help at our shelter. Family Days focus on duties such as kennel care support, animal enrichment, adoption greeting and basic sanitation aid. All volunteer activities are non-animal handling and are recommended for children 7 years and older.
For children 13 to 18 years old, we offer a monthly Junior Volunteering program. During the program, participants will embark on a behind-the-scenes shelter tour, engage in hands-on volunteer tasks, and conclude the day with animal interactions.
