Our main shelter at 3201 Earhart Drive in Carrollton first opened its doors in 1999. Decades later, our organization continues to operate at the same location but has expanded adoption services across North Texas. To help more pets find loving families, we have built partnerships with businesses that allow us to host pop-up off-site adoption events and even permanent adoption sites at their stores.

Common Myths About Adoptable Animals at Pet Retail Stores
Many people don’t realize that the cats and other pets at PetSmart, Petco and Pet Supplies Plus are affiliated with shelters! All three organizations team up with local animal shelters and rescues to help them adopt eligible pets while creating kennel space for each organization to aid more animals.
Pets found in these stores are ready for adoption, with staff and volunteers from their animal welfare organizations caring for them while they await loving homes! All fees associated with their adoption are set by the pet’s shelter/rescue and support that shelter/rescue’s mission.
Find Operation Kindness Humane Society Pets in Rockwall
Rockwall Pets merged with Operation Kindness Humane Society in February 2026, allowing us to expand critical community services into Rockwall and the surrounding areas. Thanks to dedicated local volunteers, we transport pets to the area where volunteers assist our team in hosting pop-up adoption events around Rockwall.
Two of the main locations where community members can find and meet adoptable Operation Kindness Humane Society pets are at the Rockwall Farmers Market and at Petco Rockwall on Market Center Dr. While dogs are only available for adoption in Rockwall at weekend events, you can always find adoptable cats at the Petco in Rockwall during their normal business hours.

Visit Our Pet Supplies Plus Cat Adoption Centers
Thanks to a partnership with Pet Supplies Plus, we can bring adoptable cats to neighborhoods near you. This collaboration makes it easy to adopt a pet right where you live, plus allows you to shop for supplies right in the same building. Drop by your local store and meet friendly feline faces that are looking for loving homes.
Find Cats and Dogs at Our PetSmart Everyday Adoption Center
At select PetSmart stores, Everyday Adoption Centers (EACs) can be found. These centers are typically open 7 days a week and act as an adoption site within high-traffic PetSmart stores. All EACs are staffed by animal welfare organizations whose pets are housed at the store. You can find Operation Kindness Humane Society dogs and cats available for adoption at our Everyday Adoption Center on Coit Rd in North Dallas!
