Learning, Connecting, Transforming: Texas Unites for Animals 2026

Operation Kindness Humane Society hosted its annual animal welfare conference — Texas Unites for Animals — at the Austin Renaissance Marriott Hotel. From April 23-26, 2026, animal welfare professionals joined together as a community to learn, connect and transform the lives of pets.

With 494 attendees, 60 sponsors and 108 training workshops for attendees to select from, our conference brought together people from across Texas and beyond. Attendees shared one goal: providing the best possible care and outcome for animals. Through facilitated networking nights, collaborative round tables and interactive lectures, animal welfare professionals gathered knowledge and resources to take back to their organizations.

“It is always an honor to continue seeing the incredible collaborations at Texas Unites come to life year after year,” said Aviana Goines, Texas Unites Manager. “The opportunity to learn about the amazing efforts happening across the nation and witness how these innovations inspire ideas, growth and leadership among emerging voices throughout the industry is truly inspiring.”

In Texas, animal control officers are required to earn 30 hours of continuing education training every three years. Certified Animal Welfare Administrators, Veterinarians and Licensed Veterinary Technicians also have continuing education requirements. Texas Unites training courses and the annual conference help animal welfare workers meet these requirements.

We are grateful to all our sponsors, including a special thank you to Maddie’s Fund, Petco Love and Best Friends for sponsoring the 2026 conference.
