North Texas Giving Day is an online day of giving for our community to come together and give to their favorite non-profit organizations. Right now, Operation Kindness is celebrating the giving day and wants to remind you how your support changes thousands of lives.

Our goal is to raise $525,000 to support our lifesaving shelter and programs that help pets and the people who love them. Donations will help provide veterinary care, food and so much more for animals in need. Explore the impactful programs and resources that Operation Kindness offers, all thanks to your support!

Community Initiatives and Resources for Pet Owners

Our organization has expanded over the years, not only are we a lifesaving shelter, but we also offer programs and resources to community members. Our Community Initiatives team launched in July 2022, allowing us to change the lives of pet owners across Texas by providing affordable veterinary care and hosting free pet food pantries.

In 2024, over 41,000 animals were impacted by our programs, which was a huge milestone in Operation Kindness’ history.  Most recently, our Community Initiatives team traveled nine hours south to Terlingua, Texas, a rural town with limited access to veterinary care. With our newly donated mobile unit, our team was able to perform 115 free spay/neuter surgeries and treat 61 wellness clinic pets.

Your support allows our team to extend a helping hand to underserved communities and provide support for pets across the state.

Supporting Rescue Partners with Our Lifesaving Partnerships Hub

Since opening its doors to the public a little over a year ago, our Lifesaving Partnerships Hub has transformed how we serve animals and local shelter partners. Located near Dallas Animal Services (DAS), our team is better equipped to serve animals in Dallas, which helps increase Dallas Animal Services’ lifesaving rate

Our hub is also the primary facility for our transport animals to stay during this preparation period. Last year, we transported 1,086 animals to out-of-state shelters where they started a new journey to find loving homes.

We are proud of our partnership with the Dallas Police Department and DAS, which allows our organization to provide animal cruelty forensic services and examinations for the city. Our forensics team is housed at the Lifesaving Partnerships Hub, providing a comfortable space for animals to receive medical care.

Providing Emergency Care for Pets and their Families

We are quick to step up and provide aid to communities that are impacted when disasters strike. Just days after the devastating Central Texas floods, we mobilized our entire team to provide comprehensive disaster relief efforts. Our team was able to transfer in 122 animals, allowing local shelters to make space for flood-displaced pets.

Donations allow us to respond quickly to crises like the Central Texas floods while maintaining our commitment to our daily operations and programs.

How can you participate?

Early giving is open now, which means you don’t have to wait to donate! Your last day to make a gift is on Thursday, September 18.

Follow along on Facebook and Instagram to stay updated. Also, make sure you are signed up to receive email updates from Operation Kindness.
