Meredith Jones Elected to AAWA Board of Directors
Operation Kindness Humane Society Chief of Staff, Meredith Jones has been elected to the Association for Animal Welfare Advancement (AAWA) board of directors. It’s a proud moment for our whole team, and it comes as we celebrate another milestone. Our President and CEO, Ed Jamison, is completing six years of service on the AAWA board. As one chapter closes and another begins, Operation Kindness continues to have a seat at the table where the future of our profession is shaped.
Meredith was recognized as a new board member during AAWA’s annual conference, held Oct. 26-29. She also presented an insightful session titled “One Message, Two Audiences: Aligning External Service Access with Internal Team Care in a Polarized Environment.” Drawing on her work at Operation Kindness, Meredith shared practical strategies for delivering one cohesive message to clients and staff while navigating political sensitivities, operational constraints and emotional labor.
In her new role on the board, Meredith will help advance AAWA’s mission to champion, advance and unify the animal welfare profession. Through her demonstrated leadership and dedication to the people and animals we serve, we are proud to have her represent Operation Kindness on the AAWA board.
“I am incredibly honored to join the AAWA Board of Directors and have the opportunity to serve alongside leaders who care so deeply about the future of animal welfare” said Meredith Jones. “Some of the most meaningful progress in our industry happens when we learn from one another, share what is working, and create opportunities for others to succeed. I am excited to contribute to that work and help strengthen the profession we all care so much about.”
While Ed’s term on the AAWA board has come to an end, his commitment to advancing the field hasn’t. We’re deeply grateful for his years of service and for everything he continues to contribute to our profession.
