NURSING
HOME VISITS - AGELESS LOVE FOR ANIMALS
The Animal
Care Team (ACT) of Operation Kindness visits local nursing
homes every month. This
year the team has made numerous
visits to Kirby Manor and Heritage Gardens,
both located in Carrollton.
Volunteers of Operation
Kindness take their own pets to visit the residents
in the nursing
homes. The inute they walk through the door,
it's as if the
dogs and cats know why they are there. They
immediately go up to residents to say "Hi",
or maybe its just for the attention and petting
they receive!
Everyone ends up having a wonderful experience,
we hear wonderful stories of past family pets
the residents have had over the years, and
seeing the
love and affection the residents have for the
team and their pets.
If you are interested
in becoming part of the ACT team, you must
be an active volunteer
with Operation Kindness. Please contact Volunteer
Coordinator, Tomi Tucker:
Email
Tomi or call 972-418-7297
Ext. 230.

volunteering, visit the Volunteer
section of our website. The two-legged and four-legged
friends at Operation Kindness thank the nursing
homes for the very warm welcome we receive.
The Animal Care Team brings flowers, cookies,
cake and other goodies to the nursing home
residents to help brighten their day.
