Operation Kindness Blog - A note about pets and COVID-19 from our CEO Bob Catalani | North Texas No-Kill Animal Shelter

Jim Gibson, president of Operation Kindness’ Board of Directors, announces that Operation Kindness has appointed a new CEO who will lead our work to help homeless pets in North Texas.

Robert “Bob” Catalani replaces Jim Hanophy who served as CEO since 2013. In his role as interim CEO over the last 4 months, Bob has demonstrated a combination of business savvy and excellent management skills while leading the organization through a complex construction project. The board is thrilled that Bob will be officially assuming the role of CEO effective June 3. We are excited about having Bob at the helm leading Operation Kindness into the future.

After forty years in the beverage alcohol industry, Bob Catalani retired in August 2018. Bob worked for Breakthru Beverage Group, a leading North American beverage wholesaler with more than $5 billion in annual sales and more than 7,000 employees. Bob holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas.

Bob served as an Operation Kindness board member from January – May 2019. He currently is also a Planning and Zoning Commissioner in Addison, Texas.

As an animal lover, our mission is close to his heart. Bob is the proud owner of Ace and Gracie, his two rescue dogs.

Over the past 40 years, Operation Kindness has grown from a small store front in Garland into a leader in animal welfare in North Texas, assisting more than 5,000 animals each year. We are now midway through our $12 million capital campaign to expand and renovate our adoption center and animal hospital.

We’re thrilled that Bob will be continuing in his role as CEO of Operation Kindness. We are all committed to the smooth transition that will lead us to achieving our vision of a world where all cats and dogs have loving, responsible, forever homes.
